What do you desire most in life? Think deeper than a nice car or a big house or a job that pays well. What are your deepest, most truthful desires? This question can be surprisingly difficult to answer. I thought for the longest time that what I really wanted was security – particularly in the financial department. I had to really sit with that longing to understand that the reason I wanted to feel secure was actually an aching for unconditional love.
When we become honest with ourselves… bitterly truthful… we come to know that our true desires are our heart’s desires. If we allow ourselves to sit in the waves of emotion that flow through our body we will start to hear the messages from our soul. At the most truthful level everyone wants the same things. We all want to feel good. We want to live in a state of love. We want to love and be loved. We want our lives to be filled with the feelings of belonging, purpose, peace, happiness, bliss, joy, gratitude, grace, forgiveness…. that is what your heart and soul are calling you to live every day. That is how you find your purpose.
