“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Howard Thurman
There is a lot happening in the world right now that is not very positive. It is easy to get caught up in the drama of it all. When we focus on all of these issues that are happening around the globe we spend our time worry which is just a negative use of imagination. We help contribute to the negative energy by becoming negative ourselves.
The more proactive of us want to come up with a way to help. We try to figure out what we can do to bring justice. How can we change what we see? The problem is that focusing your energy on the happenings of the world is counterproductive. What we are seeing in the world is a result of internal processes. Everything happening is the effective of our collective thinking. You cannot manipulate the effects and expect to see long-term solutions.
Instead, we must turn our focus onto ourselves and the ways in which we can fully express our souls. How can we bring more positive energy into the world? How can we work on our own piece of the puzzle by turning within? For some of us that will mean getting directly involved in peacemaking solutions and for others it will mean living wholeheartedly somewhere in our own corner of the globe.
Each of us has the power to do what will make us come alive and serve the world through that avenue. The world does not need more fear and worry – it needs each of us to be who we came here to be. It needs each of us to come alive and begin making a difference in our own lives. If we all did that, the external issues would begin to melt and we would find resolution to all of the conflict. Play your part by honoring yourself and following your heart. Choose love.
